Today, we’re looking at Tim Whyatt’s single-panel comics, which are full of fun. Whyatt’s cartoons are noted for their chuckle-inducing wit and contemporary comedy, and they can make you laugh out loud right away. After all, he is an expert at creating exact jokes. Whyatt can convert everyday settings into something unusual while keeping approachable with only one panel (usually).
The artist is a master at mocking our contemporary world’s idiosyncrasies and emphasizing the silliness of human actions, which is why each of his cartoons reveals his talent for comedy, transforming the mundane into hilarious.

When asked, “How did comics come into your life?” Whyatt remarked on his early days, noting, “I really got into cartoons in fifth grade when one of my friends started bringing Mad Magazines to school. I couldn’t believe how beautiful the painting was. Following my initial viewing of The Far Side in the 1990s, I became enamored with cartoons. They were the funniest cartoons I’d ever seen—and they still are!”

Tim discussed his creative process, saying, “I draw rough ideas every day, but I never complete any artwork until a joke has been selected by my publishers.” The artist also acknowledged his early artistic influences, stating, “My father was a graphic artist, so I probably inherited some artistic abilities from him.” I’ve always had the ability to draw, so it comes naturally to me. “The hardest part is coming up with the joke.”
