From villains to princesses, Finnish artist Jirka Väätäinen has brought renowned Disney characters to life, and they all appear to be people you’d like to meet. Jirka has recently begun to focus on children who many of us may have forgotten: parents. Tarzan’s father, John, Pocahontas’ father, Chief Powhatan, and a few others appear to be capable of not just rearing a son but also taking over Hollywood. Jirka’s extremely realistic digital work has already garnered her over 209,000 Instagram followers, and it doesn’t appear like the Helsinki-based artist will stop sharing her character drawings anytime soon.

This entire Disney effort has lasted eight years, and to be honest, I’m struggling to find the time and inspiration to create more,” the artist admitted. “Having said that, it’s still enjoyable when I have free time. So we’ll have to watch when this wave of inspiration for these fantastic drawings strikes again.

Jirka is a freelancer who works a lot of hours when he is not playing with celebrities. Professionally, I’ve always been an art director and graphic designer first and foremost, but I also consider myself an illustrator. But I enjoy all things visual, and one of my main passions is fashion and personal style, which I constantly promote on social media.
